Last year, there were 2,456,017 registered road motor vehicles in Croatia, which is three percent more than the year before, while there were 1,840,767 registered passenger vehicles, which is 2.5 percent more than in 2021, according to the data of the State of the Institute for Statistics (CBS).
147,768 road vehicles were registered for the first time, 2.6 percent less than in 2021.
The number of first registrations decreased for trucks, passenger vehicles, special vehicles and trailers, while it increased for buses, motorcycles, mopeds, road tractors, semi-trailers and agricultural tractors.
106,455 passenger vehicles were registered for the first time, which is a decrease of 5.2 percent compared to the previous year. The CBS states that the drop in the number of first registrations of passenger vehicles in 2022 was influenced by a significant drop in the number of first registrations of used vehicles of as much as 42.8 percent.
Last year, 10,005 road traffic accidents with casualties were recorded, which is 9.4 percent more than in 2021. 275 people died in road traffic accidents in 2022, or 5.8 less than in 2021.
There were 13,329 injured, i.e. 11.8 percent more than in 2021.
