Boris Žgomba, the President of the Association of Travel Agencies within the Croatian Chamber of Economy, was a guest on N1 and commented on the current tourist situation across Croatia.
“I believe we can do even better. Ultimately, this tourist year has been excellent in the pre-season. There is certainly room for improvement. The fact is that at this moment, we have been quite fully occupied. I believe there are more than a million and 200 thousand guests in our area. Some destinations are on the verge of saturation, where the local population starts to not appreciate tourists, and that becomes a significant issue for the destination,” he stated.
And commenting on the prices in Croatia he said that “Some tried to unfairly profit, and they were penalized by the market. In my opinion, we have excessively high prices in retail chains, and all of that together constitutes important elements of guest satisfaction, but potentially also their return next year. I believe the problem will be felt next year, and those who raised prices have primarily done damage to themselves,” concluded Žgomba.
