“It is important to us that this package of sanctions leaves 45 days for the Serbian authorities to resolve the issue of ownership and NIS,” said Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic he stated that the communication between the Croatian government and the American authorities has been going on for several weeks due to the sanctions against “Gazpromneft” and The oil industry of Serbia, which affect the Adriatic Pipeline (Janaf).
“It is important to us that this package of sanctions leaves 45 days for the Serbian authorities to resolve the issue of ownership and NIS,” Plenković said.
He reminded the Croatian and Serbian public that 95 percent of the oil that comes to Serbia goes through Janaf, which is therefore very important for Serbia’s energy and economic security.
“It is in Croatia’s interest to use those 45 days to resolve the issue of ownership.” We want Janaf to continue supplying Serbia, because we want the economic and energy stability of our neighbor, which the Serbian authorities know, and I am saying this for the sake of the citizens,” said Plenković.
At the same time, he added that Croatia “really takes care” of Janaf’s operations.
“We have communicated the possible secondary consequences of this regime of sanctions on Janaf and we will ensure that its operations are not threatened at all,” Plenković said.
He pointed out that he is convinced that the Government of Serbia “has enough time to resolve the issue of ownership in NIS”.
