One Croatian beach has been named on the list of the 31 Best Beaches in the World for 2023 by international magazine Time Out.
Time Out complied a list of the world’s most exceptional beaches.
Despite the shared elements of sun, sea, and sand, no two beaches are identical due to the uniqueness of nature. Whether it’s volcanic black sand expanses or vibrant urban shorelines, each is extraordinary, the popular magazine says in its introduction.
Coming in at No. 1 on the list was Railay Beach in Thailand, followed by Hyams Beach in New South Wales, Australia and Shipwreck Beach in Zakynthos, Greece.
Whilst no Croatian beach featured among the top ten, Zlatni Rat on the island of Brač, which is arguably Croatia’s most famous beach, came in at No. 27 on the list.
“Croatia’s most famous beach? Zlatni Rat might just take the crown. Found on the gorgeous island of Brač (a 50-minute ferry from Split), this shapeshifter changes size and length depending on the tide. That is amazing enough in itself, but all thoughts of natural curiosity tend to subside when faced with the sheer beauty of it. Get in the shade of the pine trees and enjoy a lazy afternoon of watching the kite-surfers do their thing,” Time Out writes.
