Croatian share indices extend Koncar-driven row of record highs

Fresh gains in electrical concern Koncar Elektroindustrija [ZSE:KOEI] lifted the main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) to new record highs, bourse data showed on Friday.

The bourse’s 19-share equity benchmark, the CROBEX, went up 0.94% to 3,330.89 points, a record high at least for the last five years.

The CROBEX10 index, which tracks the top ten issuers in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, added 0.81% to score a new all-time high, 2,113.95 points, building on its all-time highs set in the previous three trading sessions.

Koncar generated the biggest gaily turnover, 614,000 euro ($628,000), as its shares jumped 2.80% to 550 euro.

On Tuesday, brokerage Intercapital said that it values the Koncar share at 570 euro, giving it a strong ‘buy’ recommendation in the context of its solid backlog, a new joint venture with Siemens, and amidst strong demand for Koncar’s transformers on the wave of the green transition. Koncar’s shares gained 18.5% this week, almost 33% in the last one month and 175% in the last one year.

Zagrebacka Banka [ZSE:ZABA] was the second most traded company with a turnover of 405,000 euro on Friday, when its shares surged 3.93% to 29.10 euro.

Shares of software company Span [ZSE:SPAN] jumped 3.85% to 45.90 euro in a turnover of 288,000 euro.

Koncar and Span are constituents of the two main share indicesm while Zagrebacka Banka is part of the wider index.

The bourse’s regular turnover fell to 2.7 million euro from 3.0 million euro on Thursday.
