On May 1, the President signed the Additional measures to digitalize the healthcare system Resolution. The Resolution says that Uzbekistan and the German Development Bank KfW signed a loan agreement worth of 45 million euros for a period of 12 years, including a five-year grace period, as well as a grant agreement worth of 5.5 million euros.
The funds will be contributed for the project “Support for reforms in the digitalization of public healthcare.”
According to Norma.uz, the digitalization plan includes:
- introduction of the “Electronic prescription” system;
- development of the platform “Electronic sanatorium”, which facilitates obtaining a ticket to the sanatorium, tracking the queue and availability;
- introduction of the Cancer-Register information system for maintaining an electronic list of cancer patients;
- creating the possibility of obtaining sheets and certificates of temporary disability through the Unified Portal of Public Services.
It was reported in early January, that the Ministry of Health was hiring specialists from Turkey to digitalize healthcare, develop health insurance and medical clusters.
