Tottenham Taps into Croatian Talent Pool: Exciting Transfers on the Horizon

Luka Vušković will be transferred from Hajduk Split to Tottenham Hotspur, and the 16-year-old defender will be the most expensive player in the history of the Split club. And in return Ivan Perišić will move from Tottenham to Hajduk, reports Sportske novosti.

The brilliant 16-year-old Vušković will be the most expensive player in the history of the Split club, bringing the “Whites” 11 million in fixed compensation and becoming the most expensive young defender in the history of football. He will be officially registered for Tottenham in 2025, following the rules, when he turns 18 years old.

Reports indicate that the President of Hajduk Split, Lukša Jakobušić, has managed to arrange all of this with the owner of the London club, Daniel Levy, and that the arrival of Perišić will happen already this winter.

Lukša Jakobušić and Tottenham’s owner Daniel Levy did indeed negotiate for months, and the famous London club was not the only one involved in the race for Vušković. The first concrete offer came from Manchester City, but Hajduk was unwilling to loan their young player to a club without a guarantee that he would play there. The European champions couldn’t provide that assurance, so that option fell through.

Then everything was practically agreed with PSG, but at one point, the club encountered problems. The coach changed, big stars like Messi and Neymar left, and all those upheavals in Paris ultimately delayed the deal with Hajduk.

Unfortunately, Perišić is currently injured, and it is a question of when he will be back on the pitch, but when he does return it will be in the white shirt of Hajduk Split.

A sensational news has emerged just before the biggest Croatian derby. On Sunday, October 1st, Dinamo, the current champion, will come to Poljud. Hajduk are currently sitting at the top of the league, with two points more than Dinamo Zagreb.
