Croatia’s Iskra to Build 7 SAR Vessels for 13.6 mln Euro

Croatian shipyard Iskra will build seven aluminium vessels for search and rescue (SAR) operations in the Adriatic sea for 13.6 million euro ($14.8 million), the Croatian government said.

During the weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the government granted approval for the ministry of sea, transport, and infrastructure to finalise and sign the agreement with Iskra shipyard. The funding for this project, spanning from 2023 to 2028, will be allocated from the state budget.

The vessels will be up to 15 metres long.

Iskra won the deal in an international tender called in October last year.
